English made double rifle chambered for the .450 No.2 Nitro Express cartridge. The 25” blacked rifled shoe-lump steel barrels with Birmingham proofs are fit with a matte stippled quarter rib with express rear sights - 1 gold lined standing regulated at 50 Yds. and 2 gold lined folding leaves regulated at 100 and 200 Yds., white tipped blade front sight and swivel for sling. The top rib is gold inlaid "ARMY & NAVY C.S.L.". The right barrel is roll marked "80 GRN'S CORDITE 480 GRN BULLET" while the left barrel is roll marked "FOR 450 NO 2 CARTRIDGE" The case color hardened finished sidelock non-ejector action is engraved with fine English arabesque scrolls and each lockplate is engraved "ARMY & NAVY C.S.L." in gold, beaded fences, disc set strikers, gold lined cocking indicators and the fire blued smooth double triggers are protected by a blacked engraved trigger guard extending to a long bottom strap with the gun's serial number in gold and a non-automatic safety. The engraved top strap has "SAFE" inlaid in gold ahead of the fire blued engraved and scored slide safety. The top lever is blacked, engraved and the left side of the thumb piece is checkered. Best quality walnut stock with drop points, checkered pistol hand grip fit with an engraved case color hardened steel grip cap, vacant gold oval and eye for sling. Checkered splinter forend with Anson style push button release. 14-1/2" LOP to a 7/8" leather covered recoil pad, 10 Lbs. 15 Oz. The rifle resides in an oak & leather trunk case with brass corners and a vacant oval brass plaque.
