12 gauge sidelock ejector game gun. Blacked round 28" chopper lump nitro proved steel barrels with ejectors, 2-1/2" chambers, choked Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified and a tapered, smooth, concave game rib with a steel front bead. Rib is engraved "J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDELY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON.". Rib near the breech with "2" in gold. The case color hardened finished action body is adorned with rose bouquets and scrolls and beaded fences. The bottom of the lockplates are engraved "J PURDEY & SONS LONDON ENGLAND". Blacked scroll engraved top lever with "2" in gold inside an oval and "SAFE" gold inlay on top tang ahead of engraved and checkered slide safety. The Beesley assisted opening sidelock action is fit with smooth, fire blued double triggers protected by an engraved trigger guard, cocking indicators, disc-set strikers and automatic safety. Well figured reddish-brown walnut stock with checkered English straight hand grip and drop points. The straight hand grip is supported by a long engraved bottom strap with serial number. Splinter forend with matching checkering and Anson style push button release. The exterior steel of forend is similarly engraved. Forend tip with "2" in gold. 15-1/2" LOP to a 1/2" leather covered recol pad.
