A matched pair of 12 gauge sidelock ejector game guns. Both blacked round 28" chopper lump nitro proved steel barrels with 2-1/2" chambers, choked Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder and a tapered, smooth, concave game rib with a steel front beads. Ribs are engraved "J PURDEY & SONS. AUDELY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. MADE OF SPECIAL SUPER NICKEL STEEL". Ribs near the breeches with "3" and "4" in gold. The case color hardened finished action bodies are adorned with rose bouquets. The bottoms of the lockplates are engraved "J PURDEY & SONS". Blacked scroll engraved top levers with "3" and "4" in gold with left side checkered thumb pieces and "SAFE" gold inlay on top tangs ahead of engraved and checkered slide safties. The actions are fit with smooth, case color hardened finished double triggers protected by engraved trigger guards, cocking indicators, disc-set strikers and automatic safties. Well figured exhibition Turkish walnut stocks with checkered English straight hand grips, drop points and vacant stock ovals. The straight hand grips are supported by long engraved bottom straps with serial numbers. Splinter forends with matching checkering and Anson style push button releases. The exterior steel of forends are similarly engraved. Forend tips with "3" & "4" in gold. 14-5/8" LOP's to a checkered butt.
