An antique 10 bore bar action hammer sidelock game gun with 34" blacked steel barrels that are fit with extractors, a smooth concave game rib with a brass bead front sight, 3" chambers and choked Improved Cylinder & Improved Cylinder. The rib is roll marked "J.V. NEEDHAM. 20A TEMPLE ST, BIRMINGHAM." Bottom of the barrels with original Birmingham black powder proof marks, "J.V. NEEDHAM", "9B", "10M", "NOT FOR BALL" and serial number. The grey patina rebounding hammer action body and locks are adorned with light border scrolls, "J.V. NEEDHAM" on both locks. The smooth double triggers are protected by a blacked border scroll engraved trigger guard that extends to a 3/4 length bottom tang. Reddish-brown walnut stock with checkered round knob grip and large splinter snap fore-end. 14-7/8" LOP to a 1-1/2" orange rubber recoil pad, Cast Off 1/8" at face, 13 Lbs. - 15 Oz. Shotgun lives in an vintage canvas case with leather trim.
