An antique lever action rifle with full length magazine and forearm cap. The 24 inch octagonal steel barrel is chambered for the .22 Long cartridge and is built with a sporting adjustable rear sight and No. 21 sporting front sight with nickel-silver insert. Top of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. / -KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866 OCTOBER 16.1860-" and near the receiver "22 Long". The bottom of the brass cartridge carrier block is marked "22 CAL LONG", the lower tang has the rifle's serial number "336832B" between the lever latch and tang screw while the top tang is marked "MODEL 1873". The smooth stock has a 12-7/8" length of pull to a steel crescent butt plate.
