An antique lever action rifle with full length magazine and an engraved case color hardened finish steel forearm cap. The 24 inch engraved octagonal steel barrel is chambered for the .38 WCF cartridge and is built with a sporting adjustable rear sight and nickel-silver blade front sight. Top of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. / -KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866 OCTOBER 16.1860-" and near the receiver "38 W.C.F". An engraved and case color finish frame. bottom of the brass cartridge carrier block is engraved, the lower tang has the rifle's serial number "441795B" between the lever latch and tang screw while the top tang is marked "MODEL. 1873". The smooth stock has a 12-7/8" length of pull to a case color finish steel crescent butt plate with sliding brass trap.
