A lever action rifle with a box magazine. This rifle is the last John M Browning design for Winchester. The 23 inch round blued steel barrel is chambered for the .30 GOVT. 06 cartridge and is built with an adjustable sporting rear sight and a blade front sight. Left side of the barrel is marked '-NICKLE STEEL BARREL- / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER -.30 GOV'T' 06.' Top of the barrel near the receiver is a cartouche with letters 'WP" inside. Left side of blued receiver is Marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. / PATENTED NOV.5.95. NOV.12.95. AUG.17.97. JAN.25.98. AUG.23.98. AUG.6.1907.' and by the barrel a cartouche with letters 'WP' inside. The top tang is marked 'MODEL 95 / -WINCHESTER- / TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT OFF & FGN.' Top of the receiver near forearm is marked with a cartouche enclosing a 'W & P'. On the lower tang underneath the 2 piece lever is the rifle's serial number "410951' & 'B'. The smooth walnut stock has a 12-7/8" length of pull to a steel crescent style butt plate. The tip of the Schnable forearm has a black insert.
